Hospital at Home (or H@H) is a service the BCH provides for patients so they can be discharged early from hopsital with follow up nursing care from experienced children’s nurses at home. It is a big success. The parents and children are happy to go home early and the hospital is happy to be able to admit a new patient. It is interesting to see how these H@H nurses are very directly involved in the community. Because they are part of the Pediatric Assessment Unit, the Emergency Department and the High Dependency Unit, they can work on these wards if there are not mucht H@H patients. As I said before… a big succes!
